DRÄXLMAIER expanding Upstate operations

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The DRÄXLMAIER Group, one of the world’s top automotive suppliers, is expanding its existing manufacturing operations in Spartanburg County. The company is investing more than $35 million in the project, creating 94 new jobs in Duncan, S.C. over the next five years.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – KING Automation, an industrial automation engineering company, is expanding its Spartanburg County operations by relocating to a larger facility in Roebuck, S.C. The $4 million investment is expected to create 80 new jobs over the next five years.

Atlanta, May 4, 2015: Site Selection magazine has named its Top US Economic Development Groups of 2014 as part of the magazine’s annual Best to Invest rankings. Local economic development groups were first ranked according to four objective categories: new jobs, new jobs per 10,000 residents, new investment amount and new investment per 10,000 residents. Additional criteria included the creativity of economic development strategy; scope of project activity; and documenting link between the economic development organization and actual results. The rankings include the top ten metropolitan groups and honorable mentions, and the top 20 micropolitan groups.

COLUMBIA, S.C. –As part of the annual Industry Appreciation Week, the South Carolina Department of Commerce on Thursday announced the 2015 Ambassadors for Economic Development. Recognized for their exceptional efforts to bolster community and economic development activities in South Carolina, the ambassadors were honored in a ceremony held on Thursday, April 2 at the Governor’s Mansion Complex. The company recently purchased a building and nearly 4 acres adjacent to its existing facility, increasing its manufacturing footprint to approximately 129,000-square-feet. Rite Aid selects Spartanburg County for new distribution center, to create nearly 600 new jobs

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Rite Aid Corporation announced today plans to build a 900,000-square-foot distribution center in Spartanburg, S.C. The new distribution center is expected to employ nearly 600 people after it becomes fully operational and will support the inventory and fulfillment needs of approximately 1,000 Rite Aid stores in the southeastern United States. The Spartanburg distribution center, a $90 million project, will be Rite Aid’s first new distribution facility in 15 years.
