ResMed Announces Expansion in Spartanburg County

ResMed Corp. today announced an expansion of its operations in Spartanburg County, locating its new distribution facility in the Spartangreen Industrial Park in Duncan. The new warehouse will allow ResMed to accommodate a larger workforce and expanded operations in South Carolina. The building formerly housed BMG Direct Marketing Inc. ResMed is based in San Diego, Calif., and the new facility will serve as ResMed’s expanded East Coast distribution center.

BMW Breaks Ground on Expansion

Spartanburg, S.C. (3/10/2008) — BMW today announced it will invest an additional $750 million in its Upstate South Carolina factory to add 1.5 million square feet and 500 new jobs on site to produce three models and to increase production capacity to 240,000 units by 2012.

Bericap brings jobs to Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties

Bericap, a major international producer of specialized plastic closures, will locate and build it's new design-built manufacturing plant in the Upstate Corporate Industrial Park in Cherokee County, South Carolina. This plant represents an investment of approximately $20 million and 45 jobs. Construction of the first phase building, consisting of 90,000 square feet, will commence in 2007 with completion set for full production in early 2008. The site and building will allow room for future expansions.

Innovative Fibers, LLC to locate Manufacturing Facility in Spartanburg

The South Carolina Department of Commerce joined the Economic Futures Group (EFG) in welcoming Innovative Fibers, LLC to Spartanburg County.  The company will invest approximately $15 million and expects to create 40 jobs at its new facility.

Milliken & Company, one of the world's largest privately held textile and chemical manufacturers and widely acknowledged international leader in research technology, innovation, and customer service, requested a Fee-In-Lieu of Taxes (FILOT) from Spartanburg County Council this month. This project represents the potential for a $5 million dollar investment.  The EFG is pleased to have assisted in this project.
