Economic Futures Group 2020 Q1 Update

Economic development prospects from all over the world  continued to express interest in Spartanburg, and RFIs were up for each month during the first quarter of 2020 compared to 2019. Our consistent reputation and the fundamentals in the real estate and logistics markets will be drivers for Spartanburg's post-pandemic resurgence.

Our existing industries are feeling some effects from the current economic slow down, including temporary shutdowns, layoffs and supply chain interruptions. This is paired with optimism that production will begin again soon, and that we won't face a permanent overall workforce reduction. National-and state-level conversations are occurring about locating supply chain components closer to markets and customers - a potential win for Spartanburg.
